This was a personal project of mine in an attempt to help me visualize the Flatt Bear Inn. I also felt it would help in allowing to draw more accurate backgrounds and settings. Ultimately, it turned out it was just plain fun to build a world from scratch. I modeled it after an old floor plan I found in a home builders catalog which was dated somewhere between the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. The catalog included room dimensions so I was able to build this model to scale. I heavily modified the plans to suit the design needs of the inn adding diner, basement, and a converted attic space. I built this model using 3D Studio max and I used Photoshop to create the textures (things like roof tiles, exterior paint, all the interior wall coverings). The set dressings, furniture, props, and other details were models that I either found for free or purchased.
