Pushy Bush
I guess there are worse things in life than having a shrub chase you down with a government funded check. All I can say is that is one determined federal foliage.
Couple of experiments in this strip. I always loved how Watterson would sometimes do full page layouts and use the foreground to divide up the panels. So I thought I give it a go. I also did something different with the coloring. Not sure it will be a permanent fixture because it tends to mute the colors a little. We’ll see. I’ll have to stare at it for a while to make my determination.
BTW, thanks to Gruhn for the title idea. I was going to go with Creeper-cash, but a comment he left in the last comic update sealed the deal on this.

That’s a great scene P.J. Works really well. I never realised that Bears were so Cash-‘o-Phobic. He should take the cheque & put it toward rebuilding the Diner
Hmmmmm, now there’s an idea…… 😉
A serious reason for avoiding cash: last week’s New Yorker story about a certain politician who destroyed opponents by having an operative give them envelopes full of cash.
I thinks we’ll tell Duff to stay away from any potential political races. Just to be safe.
That is one persistent hedge!
he’s sure is.
It is one of my dreams and a top 5 bucket list item to be accosted by cash.
There are worse things to be accosted by, that’s for sure.
I’m not sure if I should say run or not . . . Ha!
And nice page Pj!
Really. Anytime someone’s trying to give me “free” money, the last thing I am doing is running the in the opposite direction.
I really like this comic P.J.! I don’t know what you did differently with the coloring (More textures than usual?) but I think it looks great! 😀
On a whim, I added a filter in Photoshop called Sponge. jacked the settings up so it was very subtle. Dave Kellett did this on his sight Sheldon a while back and was always curious how he did it. I think I found out what it was quite by accident. Glad you like it Bill.
I think Duffy prefers credit.
Your layout works well, PJ.
Thanks Joseph!
