Who Likes Monkeys?
Holy-moly! Look at the size of this thing!
I wanted to do something special for Carl’s return. I had this series of events in my head and I knew there was no way I could accomplish this with just the standard four-panel strip. Since I was curious as to what I would take to draw a Sunday style strip, I took the challenge.
Yikes!
It was fun, but a lot of work. I might consider doing this again, from time to time. I will have to start them a little earlier than I started this one though.
Happy Friday. And welcome back Carl, we missed you
Cheers
p.j.
I was terrified that Carl had been killed in the fire and it was the kind of “humor” where the audience realizes something way ahead of the characters.
Wow, this one was done a while back. Yeah, Carl’s absence was more to do with “whoops, I forgot to include him in some comics for a while.” I thought it was a clever way to bring him back in and explain his disappearance.
I was waiting for the government agents to show up again.
Wait for ’em.
HE’S STILL ALIVE!
Yep. It’s been a while.
A lot can happen during hibernation. Love the hairball under the tree
Yes!!! Awesome Tony. Thanks for noticing that!!!
Happy Friday, Carl has missed quite a bit. And nice job on the “Sunday” strip! 🙂
Thanks David! Yes, he’s a heavy hibernator.
Yay! Carl’s back. I was just wondering about him the other day … Duffy’s goofiness needs Carl’s straight-man approach to balance him out. Good stuff!
Yeah. Couldn’t have Carl trucking around in the snow, so I put him to bed. Literally.
LOL – I see what you did there!
Oooo, don’t tell anyone else.
And Carl’s return was worth every ever-lovin’ panel, too! Super job, P.J.!
A king’s welcome for a … king snake.
Monkey see, monkey do
I know… right?
It would be more weird if he liked THE Monkees!
I have a feeling he doesn’t even know who the Monkees even are.
Welcome back Carl! I was wondering where he went off to. 😀
yeah. Me too. He never said good-bye to me.
I guess that’s the real reason they only do long strips once a week… and we always thought that they were just celebrating “Sunday” 🙂 🙂 Looks good from here P.J. — Welcome Back Carl!!!!!
Back in the “Olden-days,” they used to have to had color these things. Can’t imagine how much more time consuming that was.
