That's right PETA, hamsters WERE harmed in the making of this comic. This was one of the first gags I had written for Flatt Bear and it was penned even before I had drawn the very first strip.  I couldn't wait to find an opportunity to get it out.  When I found myself able to use it, I was a little concerned that it might come across as a little harsh.  Then I thought... pfft, he's a bear.  Deal with it.  Besides, there may be worse jokes coming down the line. I'm really happy with how this one turned out. Have a good weekend.  See you on the the other side.

      Wouldn’t say dark. Unexpected? Maybe. But he’s a bear. I think we’ll see more of this sort of thing down the road.

    Ha Ha Ha Ha!!! That last panel totally cracked me up PJ. Hilarious!!! I thought they only ate honey & salmon. I guess when temptation strikes anything’s fair game

    A bear in a pet store may cause a little mayhem!
    It’s a fun joke PJ, and something a bear would do. I think in this day and age we (me included) are too concerned with offending someone when it’s only a joke. Love today’s comic!

      Thanks David. Yeah, that was my take on it. I really didn’t labor over the decision all that much. More like a passing thought.
